New this summer is a series of evening River Blues Cruises that depart from the Walnut Street dock. On-street parking is typically available on nearby streets.
Volunteer at the new Schuylkill Banks Center
The new Schuylkill Banks Center is a mini-visitor center for the Schuylkill Banks. It has maps, tour tickets, merchandise and more. The Center is currently seeking volunteers. Find out more at the Schuylkill Banks webiste.
Spanning eight miles of riverfront winding through the heart of Philadelphia, Schuylkill Banks is open year-round for walking jogging, cycling, picnics and dogwalking. The park stretches along the Schuyllkill River amd link the western edge of Center City to the Philadephia Museum of Art, Fairmount Park and Kelly Drive via the Schuylkill River Park and Trail.
There are outdoor movie screenings and concerts in the summer. Scenic cruises on the river take in various historic sites.
The park is a great place to watch the city’s magnificent July 4th fireworks display as well as the Schuylkill Banks Regatta in October, which draws hundreds of competitive rowers.
